Board and Train

This Board and Train program offers an immersive in-home training experience for dogs who will benefit from focused, consistent work in various environments. This can be an excellent option for owners who have limited time, need additional guidance addressing behavioral concerns, or want a structured reset to help their dog develop better habits.

Training takes place in a home environment, allowing dogs to practice appropriate behaviors and household manners in real-life situations. This helps create skills that are more likely to transfer back into the dog’s everyday home life, rather than only being successful in a training setting.

Along with in-home training, dogs will be taken to novel locations to practice behaviors in unfamiliar environments which will assist in transferring those skills back home. This also provides ample practice for dogs struggling with reactivity, over-arousel, or confidence concerns.

Clients will receive regular updates throughout the dog’s stay including photos and stories of training sessions. Additionally, toward the end of the stay, a comprehensive email is sent out highlighting the main training goals, how the dog succeeded, and methods to maintain success at home.

The three-week Board & Train includes a follow-up lesson with the owner. This session is an important part of the process and focuses on helping the owner continue practicing the desired behaviors and maintain skills in the dog’s home.

For clients located more than an hour away, the follow-up lesson can be completed by video call.

Board & Train programs are tailored to the individual dog and may address areas such as obedience, household manners, impulse control, barking, grooming, reactivity, confidence, and other specific training goals.
